Rin's attachment to Sae lurks deep in his heart
Ever since he was young, Rin looked up to his older brother Sae and dreamed of becoming the world’s best together. However, when Sae returned from Spain, Rin was coldly pushed away** and he began to hate his older brother for ruining his life.
Rejecting his allies and unleashing "Darkness"
Rin chose to fight Sae by himself, completely refusing teamwork with Blue Lock. Exposing his true nature, he attacked his nemesis, Sae.
A day at Blue Lock, just before the match with U-20 Japan National Team
"When I woke up this morning, my left lower eyelashes had curled up, they got into my eye and it hurt. It happens sometimes, right? Lower eyelashes get all tangled up when you sleep. Eh? Just me? But big brother said it happens to him... Ah, don't remind me of that guy. This is the worst way to wake up."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rin's Ranking on "Best 3 of Everything: Players seriously voted each!"
1. Ranked #1 The Least Likely To Succeed As Coach.
Isagi’s commentary: “I think the team would be in utter chaos.”
2. Ranked #1 The Strongest Supernatural Sense***
Rin’s commentary: "Huh?  I don’t have a supernatural sense. I just like horrors. I was told that I was possessed by 200 vengeful spirits, though."
3. Ranked #1 The Worst Listener
Bachira’s commentary: "He’s the guy who only responds with 'I’ll kill you'. I like it though!"
4. Ranked #1 The Worst Luck
Nagi’s commentary: "Maybe Rin. Seems like he pulled the worst older brother gacha. But if his big brother is Itoshi Sae, I guess he’s lucky too.
5. Ranked #2 Least Loveliest Smile
6. Ranked #2 The Least Family-oriented Person
Isagi’s commentary: "If you look at those two, you would assume so. But if they really hate each other… It means that they also think about each other."
7. Ranked #2 Longest Eyelashes
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
*In Roulette, betting on a single number is called a "straight up bet". It's the riskiest bet, but if you win the 35:1 payout will be very rewarding. (Highest-risk, Highest-reward).
**They used this to describe what happened to Rin: 冷たく突き放された (Tsumetaku Tsukihanasareta), it means he was coldly pushed away or coldly abandoned (or forsaken). Please check my notes on Sae’s profile page, because there is a connection!
***The question was 「霊感が強いのは?」 -Who has the strongest 'Reikan'? 霊感 Reikan is an ability to sense the supernatural (like spirits, ghosts, demons, etc). People who have this are said to be very sensitive, they can feel or even 'see' the supernatural while others can't!
On his profile, Rin referred to Sae as "兄ちゃん niichan". So yes, all the "big brother" mentioned by Rin here are originally "niichan" in Japanese.
Check Rin's profile from the first volume of Egoist Bible here!

Yolan
Renowned chef Tony Mantuano, celebrated for elevating Italian fine dining at Spiaggia in Chicago, has once again set a remarkable standard at Yolan, situated within the Joseph, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Nashville. Collaborating with his wife, Cathy, a seasoned wine and hospitality expert, they’ve crafted a culinary haven that embraces sophistication without losing its sense of fun. Uniquely delightful features include an Aperol Spritz cart offering playful variations of the classic aperitivo. The tasting menu, inspired by diverse Italian regions, features Roman classics such as bucatini all’amatriciana and cacio e pepe, along with the iconic cotoletta alla Milanese. Don’t miss the chance to explore the glass-enclosed cheese cave, showcasing impressive 80-pound wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano and other Italian cheeses.
Merois Nestled on the rooftop of the Pendry West Hollywood, this opulent establishment showcases Wolfgang Puck’s enduring culinary prowess. Adorned with draped fabric, elegant chandeliers, and expansive floor-to-ceiling glass walls offering panoramic views of Los Angeles, the restaurant’s stunning interiors provide a fitting backdrop for the refined and thoughtful dishes. Puck’s culinary journey draws inspiration from a multitude of countries, including Japan, China, Thailand, Singapore, and Mongolia. The diverse menu spans from exquisite sashimi to the flavour-packed **Red Thai Curry with Shrimp**, sea bream, and lemongrass-coconut broth, ensuring a gastronomic experience that transcends boundaries. Camphor Chefs Max Boonthanakit and Lijo George crossed paths in Bangkok while working at Blue by Alain Ducasse. Their Michelin-starred restaurant in Los Angeles’ vibrant Arts District reflects Ducasse’s influence, blending French techniques with South Asian flavours. The menu eschews seasonality, embracing luxuriously timeless preparations. Dishes such as lentils and lamb showcase hints of cumin and cardamom, while seared beef tenderloin bathes in a Cognac cream sauce infused with peppercorn. The sleek, modern backdrop of the stark white dining room, accented by navy banquettes, complements the chefs’ contemporary creations. Providence Led by the award-winning chef Michael Cimarusti, this two-Michelin-starred fine-dining establishment stands out as perhaps the premier seafood destination in Los Angeles. Cimarusti meticulously sources sustainable seafood from American waters, transforming these premium ingredients into both artful and delectable dishes. While the menu undergoes frequent changes, you might encounter delicacies such as gently cooked Pacific oysters adorned with Champagne butter and caviar or salt-roasted Santa Barbara spot prawns. Although the tasting menus are priced at $295 per person, Providence distinguishes itself by offering a less formal and more relaxed ambiance compared to typical fine-dining establishments. AldamaNestled in the vicinity of the Williamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn, this trendy restaurant offers a style of ambitious Mexican cuisine more commonly associated with Mexico City than with New York. The ambiance successfully combines modernity with a touch of rustic charm and sultriness. Wooden tables, chairs featuring basket-like woven seats, mezcal served in clay copitas, and Latin American music collectively create a distinctive atmosphere. Among the must-try dishes are the vegan mole negro, daikon tostadas, and taco de trompo, featuring pork belly, flank steak, adobo, and pineapple-serrano gel on an heirloom corn tortilla. Atelier CrennFor numerous individuals, dining at Atelier Crenn is considered a once-in-a-lifetime experience, making it worth the journey to San Francisco. Renowned chef and proprietor Dominique Crenn made history by becoming the first two- and then three-Michelin-starred female chef in the U.S. Now, Crenn utilizes her influential position to advocate for sustainability. Atelier Crenn holds the distinction of being the first restaurant in the U.S. to achieve certification as plastic-free. Additionally, the establishment recently made the decision to eliminate meat entirely, citing its detrimental impact on the environment. As a result, the restaurant now exclusively offers pescatarian tasting menus.
Le BernardinEnumerating the numerous awards and accolades bestowed upon this iconic New York City restaurant since its inception in 1986 would be an impossible task. Chef Eric Ripert has diligently ensured the consistently superb quality of the menu for nearly 30 years, garnering three Michelin stars as a testament. The primary focus at Le Bernardin is on seafood, although there are a few meat dishes and a vegetarian tasting menu available. Opting for delicate scallop carpaccio with basil julienne or pan-roasted dover sole with green olives, toasted almonds, and aged sherry wine emulsion is a far more enticing choice than ordering fillet mignon when dining at Le Bernardin. Zou Zou’sA relatively recent addition to New York City’s vibrant restaurant scene, this glamorous establishment situated inside the Pendry Manhattan West provides a compelling reason to venture to Hudson Yards. Quality Branded, the esteemed hospitality group responsible for Don Angie and Quality Meats, has successfully curated an exceptional Eastern Mediterranean restaurant. Noteworthy dishes include a platter of dips featuring hummus with black garlic, ember-roasted eggplant, whipped ricotta with saffron apricots, green tahini with aquafaba and cilantro, and kabocha squash with brown butter and toasted almonds. Additionally, the duck borek and Yemeni au poivre kebab have become popular choices among patronsMoon RabbitIn this Michelin-starred restaurant located within the InterContinental Washington D.C. – The Wharf, Chef Kevin Tien showcases his culinary prowess with Vietnamese cuisine. Recognized as one of our Best New Chefs in 2018 during his tenure at Himitsu, his first solo venture, Chef Tien continues to draw inspiration from his first-generation, Vietnamese-American background rooted in Louisiana. Ideal for group dining, the menu encourages sharing, allowing patrons to savour a diverse range of delectable dishes. Benu At Benu, award-winning chef Corey Lee offers guests a delightful culinary experience through intricate preparations and ambitious tasting menus, garnering numerous accolades and three Michelin stars. Nestled in the heart of San Francisco, the restaurant exudes a tranquil ambiance. The menu features contemporary interpretations of classics such as xiao long bao and Korean beef barbecue. Barakamon: The Renovation of the “Manic Pixie Dream Girl”or The Anime Version of Muse
Although it is my first attempt to anything other than Kuroko No Basket, but I hope this rant is reached out to the people who have found this particular anime as inspiring as I have.
Disclaimer: the animes I mentioned below, I don’t hate or despise them. So please don’t come defending that I am bashing them: because I am not. I used them to point out the difference between them and Barakamon
Tumblr media
We all know these type of story: a genius male protagonist hits a slump, meets a quirky girl and then comes back to his field fully charged with his creative genius. Most of the time the hero is romantically involved with the heroine, and when the story is nearing resolution either the heroine is conveniently killed off or bonded forever with the hero. Barakamon follows the same bildungsroman pattern. But Barakamon is not like many anime belonging to the same type of story like Nodame Cantabile or Your Lie in April: because it reinvents the heroine from a quirky love interest to a real, living breathing human child: Naru Kotoishi.
Naru's character have always perplexed me. She is a haywire child, nightmare to babysit for any person who is born and brought up in urban propriety, untamed, unfeminine, liberating. She represents the entire untamed naturality of the Gotou island, she is incorruptible hope. While everyone in the island appeared to be laid back and languid, she is the only one who is eccentric and unpredictable. When Handa arrives in the island, he is presented with the the two-faced persona: the out languidity of the island and the turbulent nature of the place that is seasoned dealing with nature’s unpredictability, in the tiny girl’s form.
Tumblr media
So how does Naru fall into Handa’s narrative aside from literally barging into his new abode? Naru is actually everything Handa wished he had as a child: unbridled freedom, lack of controlling parents, playful and capricious. Handa was incubated into a controlled environment and molded into the fundamentalist calligrapher. Naru literally appears in a blue t-shirt and shorts with a length of rope coiled at her waist. That’s a wonderful allusion to “Wonder Woman” that was about to enter Handa Sei’s life. At the later episode, when Handa’s mother opposes how the countryside has “corrupted” his son’s refined character, we can also understand how Naru’s influence was a sort of Feminist invasion in the rigid, conservative setup of Calligraphy world. Handa’ s mother who is a good calligrapher isn’t a professional like her husband or son, thus it further proves the point that the field is male heavy space.
At the first episode, when his fundamentalist style was challenged, he lashed out and was forced to retreat. And who he finds facing him face to face? It’s Naru. At first she makes him uncomfortable, anxious and irritated but soon Handa comes to term with the child. Naru in her essence is the other side of artistry that is impulsive, bold and uncontrolled, something which is outside Handa’s comfort zone. In several episodes, Naru is seen spilling ink, tripping on the bottles and smearing ink in clear spaces, like on the hull of the boat where Handa was asked to write by Miwa’s father. This is a great allusion of Art being an uncontrolled living breathing organism which isn't just there to please others with aesthetics; it stirs the souls and transforms. The sudden change in Handa's style, from "well behaved penmanship" to "fuzzy experimental brush strokes" are great example of Naru's influence over him. His words became simpler: "star", "feather", "utmost" "sea bream" and his style became totally eccentric. The last of “Barakamon” ‘s soundtrack is called “People learn from People” I think it actually alludes to Naru in the sense because she is the one who makes Handa face the limits of his art by challenging him physically and mentally.
Tumblr media
So how Naru is different from the Manic pixie dream girls of the other similar animes? Both Megumi Noda of Nodame Cantabile and Kaori from Your Lies In April felt like the male fantasy of the slumped, socially awkward hero. Megumi who is outwardly perverted and downright lewd in many places is the caricature of Shinichi Chiaki’s rather prudish behaviour; as a reconciliation both  end up as couples. Kaori in “Your Lie in April” is the textbook definition of “Manic Pixie Dream Girl” who is only there to motivate Kosuke Arima and disappear to the Death. Both of the women were musically prodigious and “muse-like” that brings the protagonist out of their roadblock. Both Megumi and Kaori play classical music which are not strictly dictated in the notations, and though it strikes Chiaki and Kosuke, they accept it as their path to sublimate. Naru is neither a prodigy in any artful sense, nor she is a sexual creature (or was seen with any romantic sense by the protagonist). Like any “Manic pixie dream girl” she makes the protagonist break out of his awkward shell through her eccentricity, but she does it with a perilous edge. Handa had to combat with all of his willpower to stand up to her antics in order to grow and mature. In this self-reliance boot-camp, all his previous identities, in the form of magazine articles, interviews and books gets torn out. The torn pages are then flown away as paper aeroplanes by Naru, as a symbolic gesture of “unlearning” in order to “learn” again.
Tumblr media
The Muse figures in the other two animes are the comforting image of perfection which heroes of both Nodame Cantabile and Your Lie in April are trying to reach. Shinichi's hurried and capricious playing of Mozart's piano duet "Allegro Con Spirito" and Kosuke's "Twinkle Twinkle 12 variations" are the attempts to touch the perfection of their respective muses. In both anime, Mozart plays a significant role in both animes in symbolizing the “perfect”, the “liberating” and the “sparkling”, something the hero must attain in the course of time. The theme of “reaching” in those animes are so apparent that “is my art/music reaching him/her?” is a quote which appears in almost every episode. Handa on the other hand never tries to "reach" Naru, who is the muse figure. In his struggle to find his “true self” she rather becomes the light of clarity through which he attempts breaks from his fundamentalist shell. In the end, Handa doesn’t become the paramount he had imagined he would; he gets rejected by the highly conformist industry which pushed him back because he was “too fundamental”: that sort of an anti-climatic ending to the Muse and Poet sort of narrative, and that’s where Naru’s significance lie. In art, there is nothing which is “perfect”, actually perfect is the enemy of good. In the end of Barakamon season 1, it is the “Good” that wins: Handa’s satisfaction with the calligraphy of the Doners’ names on wooden plank.
...
wow that’s a lot, now tags (although I have no evidence that they like Barakamon)

THE 6 BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN EUROPE IN 2021
Anticipating how travel will glance in 2021 is a waste of time. However, what's without a doubt is that this year has hit the delight business hard: the meaningful ventures, the mother and-pop organizations, individuals doing things right. So going in 2021 will not simply be an opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and feel the buzz of showing up in another spot and another headspace, alive to additional opportunities. As it were, it will be our opportunity to decide in favor of the sort of world we need to live in: one of maintainable organizations, environments and networks, instead of people gazing into the seductively empty bereft of a cell phone screen. It will likewise be an opportunity for a considerable lot of us to recall that we live in a mainland that is one of the extraordinary interwoven designs mankind and topography. Here's the place where we'll be going in Europe in 2021, and it feels progressively basic that we as a whole get out and do likewise – and make a decision in favor of euphoria. For more future motivation, look at our manual for the best occasion objections for 2021 and the best UK objections to visit in 2021.
6. THE AZORES
With the conceivable exemption of Iceland, no place in Europe does land dramatization very like the Azores – the Hawaii of the mid-Atlantic, with thickly forested islands bordered by rough precipices that appear to emerge from the nothingness like goliath green knees from an early stage shower. The archipelago, 950 miles from the bank of parent country Portugal, is a position of volcanic cavities, sulphuric natural aquifers, penetrating whales and surf breaks ignored by epic stacks. The archipelago of biospheres and marine stores has likewise been a calm paragon of practical the travel industry, a kind of European response to Costa Rica.
There are ships and little planes to islands like Faial, Pico and São Jorge, yet the majority of the activity occurs on Sao Miguel, which is all around loaded with great spots to remain. The exemplary twofold header is to put in a couple of evenings each at two sister inns: the Azor, with fresh mod-store calculation and a roof pool ignoring the harbor in the principle town of Ponta Delgada; and the Furnas Boutique Hotel up in the mud-percolating volcanic focal point of the island, where the superstar is the dark stone, Japanese-style warm pool.
In Vila Franca do Campo, the whale-watching and plunging area of interest thirty minutes along the south coast from Ponta Delgada, Convento de São Francisco is a 10-room shop in an exquisitely stark seventeenth century religious circle. Different features incorporate the Sete Cidades Lake Lodge, a progression of wood lodges on a kayak prepared lake in the wild north-west; and the Santa Bárbara Eco-Beach resort , a position of low-threw substantial innovation ignoring a long surf sea shore on the north coast.
By need, the food is consistently locavore, from the islands' popular cheeses to uncommon however delightful fish, for example, wreckfish and blue-mouth rockfish, and cozido das Furnas, a seven-meat stew slow-prepared in Furnas' volcanic earth. This is an immortal kind of spot; a profound nature escape, which feels about directly in 2021.
5. DUBROVNIK AND ITS SURROUNDS, CROATIA
Dubrovnik might be a little overwhelmed with Game Of Thrones sightseers, yet there's constantly been a sure wizardry to this limestone fortification on the Adriatic. Also, what's regularly neglected is the thing that an extraordinary beginning stage it is intended for a legitimate experience. Toward the south, it's not exactly an hour's drive past the languid harbor towns of the Dubrovnik Riviera to Montenegro – a country which has step by step been rediscovering its post-war magic, particularly with the impending appearance of a biophilic-innovator inn from Janu, Aman's new more youthful sister brand. Toward the north, it's under three hours to Mostar, an impeccable Bosnian town of fairylit millhouse cafés and Ottoman stone scaffolds, not a long way from the Kravice cascades, with a turquoise swimmable tidal pond encompassed by Niagara-like falls.
Yet, the alternate approach is offshore, towards the vehicle free, tumbledown Elaphiti islands of Koločep, Sipan and Lopud, handily came to by neighborhood ships. The one to visit in 2021 is Lopud, an island of Renaissance-time stone houses, outlandish gardens and demolished fortifications. Its Franciscan religious community is presently open as the five-suite Lopud 1483, following a meticulous 20-year redesign by Swiss workmanship supporter and donor Francesca Thyssen-Bornemisza. She and her family have filled the 5,000-square-meter religious community with Renaissance and contemporary workmanship, a Franciscan drug store and a reflection garden planned by an Arctic shaman, while protecting the unpleasant plasterwork and patina of the antiquated cloister.
4. SKÅNE, SWEDEN
Sweden's southernmost region infrequently gets the inclusion it merits – in huge part in light of the fact that such a lot of buzz is drawn across the Øresund Bridge from Malmö to Copenhagen. Yet, Skåne is certainly worth investigating, from the interwoven appeal of the city to the lakes, wineries and Nantucket-esque clapboard waterfront towns of the rich open country, frequently alluded to as Sweden's larder.
Malmö has large numbers of the things making it work that have put Copenhagen and Amsterdam on each most-liveable rundown going: youthful, bikeable, streaked with trenches and substantial espresso joints, yet additionally home to a wonderfully saved Dutch-Renaissance old town. However it stays more blended than the disobediently elegant Danish city across the water, particularly in regions like Möllevången, a refined, multicultural piece of town referred to local people as Falafel City. Furthermore, Sweden's generally loosened up Covid-19 guidelines have implied that hip locavore frequents, for example, Bastard, Vollmers and the Höganäs Saluhall food corridor, just as zero-squander lunch most loved Restaurang Spill, have clutched their magic heading into 2021.
A sample of Skåne produce is a decent antecedent to an excursion to the open country: regardless of whether south to the sea shore hovels and marram-grass rises of the Skanör-Falsterbo promontory, or north to the clapboard coastline town of Mölle, where the Grand Hôtel Mölle remarkably investigates the stone sea shore and the wild Kullaberg Nature Reserve, with its porpoises and beacon climbs. Past Mölle, Båstad is another exemplary coastline town, with a customary kallbadhus (cold washing house) spa toward the finish of a wooden dock, having a place with the legacy splashed Hotel Skansen. All over the area, which is by and large calmer than the Stockholm archipelago, there's a relaxed feeling of provenance at spots, for example, at the zero-squander Hörte Brygga in the south-west, with its superb water-side nursery in the mid year. Like an European response to New England, this is the most polished of breaks.
3. SALENTO, ITALY
For a genuine Italian break in 2021, we'll head right to the lower part of its heel. Habitually under-staffed as the nation's response to Cornwall, on its own hot recurrence, the Salento district offers an unpleasant cut rendition of the best of Italy – from the nearly Caribbean west coast to the plunging bluffs of the west coast; from Brindisi down to southernmost Santa Maria di Leuca through the florid dream of Lecce, all beasts and limestone sections. This is a dry, ochre-toned place where there is olive forests and precipice hopping kids, too drowsy to even consider having a very remarkable scene. The cucina povera will in general be plain and unfussy: take the shockingly awesome gnummareddi, or sheep offal rolls, served in the walled garden at A Casa Tu Martinu in Taviano; or the barbecued bream at Lo Scalo, incorporated into the bluffs at Marina di Novaglie, and run by the Longo family for 50 years.
In any case, a progression of little savvy stays have increased the game here as of late. For example, the nine-room Palazzo Daniele in Gagliano del Capo, a nineteenth century apartment given a rich mod-devout makeover by hotelier Gabriele Salini – where travel disruptor Thierry Teyssier dispatched his 700,000 Heures 'fleeting inn' idea. Or on the other hand Masseria Canali, a low-threw, seven-room estate of curves and collectibles west of Brindisi, which opened for takeovers this late spring with a pool deserving of A Bigger Splash.
2. TIMIȘOARA, ROMANIA
This western Romanian city is regularly alluded to as Little Vienna, with its stupendous Habsburg Secessionist structures and roundabout downtown area. In truth, it's not as glossily refined as the Austrian capital, however that is the point. Indeed, even in its stupendous focus, the primary spot in Europe to have electric streetlamps, Timișoara doesn't feel like a scam. Also, as other Romanian urban communities, including Cluj-Napoca and Sibiu, there's a discernible feeling of energetic good faith in this understudy town. A large number of the city's foundations have the vibe of somebody's parlor – like Scârț Loc Lejer, a bric-a-brac bar possessed by a craftsman's group, with a congested nursery, a bordering theater and a gallery of Communist commercialization in the cellar. Somewhere else, there are hopping club evenings at underground Database and practices at the graffiti'd Aethernativ Café, with faint echoes of early Noughties Berlin.
There are celebrations in Timișoara for everything from world music to film, Romany workmanship and jazz, the last of which has consistently been enormous here, in any event, when Ceaușescu pushed it underground. The National Opera House has drama and expressive dance works of art, with tickets at the cost of an IPA in London, and the craftsmanship goes from a road workmanship display in a street passage to the Muzeul de Arta's assortment of wry pictures by Corneliu Baba. All of which drove it to be named European Capital of Culture for 2021, an assignment which might get pushed back a couple of years in the wake of Covid-19. Name or not, this is a legitimate city of culture, and definitely worth a city break.
1. CHANIA, CRETE, GREECE
While its Ottoman-affected harbor and spaghetti bowl of cobble-stoned roads are gently delightful, Chania is sneaking up all of a sudden with regards to its food. From basic ocean side bistros to lovely Cretan high end food, this city on the north-west shore of the Greek island has a select yet rapidly growing scene that is tricking in master palates.

Megumi’s mother was out-numbered and she knew she had no chance to live though this but she wanted to save Megumi. She hide Megumi away and told her to not come out no matter What she heard, Megumi was hidden in a closet ( if the rough knew about her or not they left her.) Megumi’s mother was killed, her body was left on the floor to bleed out.
Once it was quiet Megumi peeked out to only see her dead mother on the floor in a pool of blood. Megumi sat down next her dead mother, she was covered in blood but she seemed to have zoned out. She didn’t Leave her mother’s body until her father came home and pulled her away.
At the age of 8 Megumi started growing scales on her feet/legs. This was a passed down trait in her father’s family that skipped him but got to Megumi. She tried her best to hide them from everyone
at school and in the village but it wasn’t hidden for so long. The kids at her school found out about her scales and she became out casted and labeled as a “Freak”. This made socializing with others hard for her. She didn’t make a real friend until she was 12 and got put into a team with Yachi and Takeshi who became her friends.
Megumi’s Father wasn’t around as much as he wanted to, He had many missions he had to do and had to be away for long periods of time. Megumi’s father loved her without question and that is why he did so many missions. He always left her in the cable hands of the village elders who treated her better than any kids at school. P.S Please take your time <3
General:
Generally fine, with a few points to consider.
 a)      Her personality you describe as ‘peaceful’ and ‘calm’, which doesn’t sound like someone who carries a grudge. Also, someone who is indecisive wouldn’t make for a very diplomatic personality, I think.
b)     You can’t really like harmony but dislike conformity, as the opposites usually go hand-in-hand.
 History:
Again, generally fine, the level of violence and adaption to family life is realistic to Naruto. I like the idea of growing scales on the body. It’s a distinctive character trait – it’s a bit of a shame that you decided to cover them up in the character design – maybe as she gets older she becomes more comfortable showing them?
However, I’m not sure she would get bullied that hard over them. Biologically exaggerated Kekkai Genkais have been shown to be not uncommon in the Naruto world, and just having some scales on the bottom part of your legs doesn’t seem all that weird in comparison to be honest.
Also, why does her father leave her in the care of the village Elders specifically? You said the mother and father were well-respected in the village, but it doesn’t sound like they were actually on the council or anything, meaning there would be more convenient people to leave her in the care of; after all, Elders are busy people (I assume by Elders you mean members of the village councils – if you just mean older people in the village, disregard this last bit).
 Looks and Appearance:
Why does she smell of wet strawberries?
The biggest question here for me is how the leg scales help her swim/breathe underwater? If she had webbed feet I might understand that helping her swim, but scales wouldn’t do that. Also, scales wouldn’t affect her ability to breathe underwater – or do you mean just stay under the surface of the water? In which case the breath-holding thing would come into play again; most ninjas are trained to stay underwater as cover and hold their breath for a long time anyway. I can’t really see how this trait would help that.
 Relationships:
Family and teammates look nice and varied. Maybe put a bit more thought into her parents’ personalities and values? Many of these would be passed onto their daughter as they raised her.
It’s good that your character is consistently scared of Gaara; that’s good and realistic. Maybe think some more about how their relationship would develop past ‘her fear of him disappeared’.
 Justus and Abilities:
Well-balanced; she’s not overpowered and you have a good spread of abilities and ability progression. I assume many of the jutsus you mentioned are made up by you so I can’t really comment too much on that.
 Overall:
You obviously thought and planned out a lot about Megumi Yoko and it shows. She’s neither overpowered not overly weak. I really like her, but I feel like you could make her stand out a bit more. With a very introverted personality, it can be easy for these kinds of characters to feel less well-defined than others. Looking forward to where you take her from here :)

An extraordinary player who boasts the top skills in Blue Lock
The monster reigning at the top of the new Blue Lock Ranking. Not only are his kicking, dribbling technique, and physical abilities outstanding, he's also able to read opponents' plays several moves ahead and manipulate them at will, making him the true ruler of the field. He's an extraordinary player with no flaws.
Is there a connection between his overbearing attitude and his brother?!
Rin is the younger brother of Itoshi Sae, who is selected as one of the "New Generation World 11". His goal is using "Blue Lock" to join Japanese National Team and surpass his older brother. His disrespectful attitude of dismissing Isagi and other players' play as "a tepid ball-kicking game**" seems to be deeply connected to his brother. When he finally surpasses his brother, will Rin's troubled mind*** be cleared?
A day at Blue Lock
"My bangs were falling over my right eye and it was starting to get annoying. I decided to cut my bangs and lifted it in front of the mirror. My face looked like my brother's, and I hated everything about it."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rin's Ranking on "Best 3 of Everything: Blue Lock players voted each other"
1. Ranked #3 The Most Hardworking
2. Ranked #3 The Most Short-Tempered
3. Ranked #1 Worst at Communication
Rin's commentary: "...I have no intention of having tepid communication with you people"
4. Ranked #2 The Best at Study****
5. Ranked #1 "Doesn't have many friends"
Rin's commentary: "...Friends? It's just a low-level community for sharing tepid experiences."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
*In Roulette, betting on a single number is called a "straight up bet". It's the riskiest bet, but if you win the 35:1 payout will be very rewarding. (Highest-risk, Highest-reward).
**"A tepid ball-kicking game" is a reference to ch. 46. Official English publication translated it as "Mediocre playtime."
***The word in Japanese is 荒んだ心 "susanda kokoro" (lit.rough heart or hardened heart). It's an expression usually used to describe someone with prickly (rough) attitude because their mind is messed up or disturbed by something. For this context I'm using "troubled mind."
****The title/ranking is "Who Can Study Well". Basically, Rin is the #2 person who is very good at studying (benkyou 勉強).
On his profile, Rin referred to Sae as "兄ちゃん niichan". All the "big brother" mentioned by Rin here are originally "niichan" in Japanese.
Check Rin's updated profile from the second volume of Egoist Bible for more!

The Last of Us Part II Fan Art Pays Tribute to Ellie, Joel and Dina
June 17, 2020 11:30 AM EST
As we get closer to The Last of Us Part II’s release date, artists up the ante in some amazing fan art pieces.
I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that The Last of Us Part II releases on Friday, right? You seem like the kind of person that is already pre-downloading the much-anticipated title as we speak, ready to jump straight into it when the clock hits midnight and not leave your console for days – am I close? Well, just in case you have been living under a rock for the longest time, The Last of Us Part II arrives June 19 on PlayStation 4 and many of us couldn’t be more excited right now. When it comes to artwork, The Last of Us community is full to the bream with sheer talent and has been since the title’s first release all the way back in 2013. Today is just another day to showcase the amazing work that the community partakes in and this time we have a The Last of Us Part II poster dedicated to Ellie, Joel, and Dina.
Over on good old Reddit which is teeming with creative art pieces, user Klaus87 has come up trumps in their fantastically well designed The Last of Us Part II poster depicting the game’s main characters Ellie, Joel, and Dina. The poster feels super menacing which is exactly how many of the games trailers and screenshots have given off. Coated in a white background, The Last of Us Part 2‘s font is in a blood-red hue with Dina and Joel showcased in the same color. Ellie, however, is standing out in a royal blue shade holding a gun with a look of rage on her face which isn’t all that new given how she has been portrayed throughout the trailers. Klaus87, real name Jacopo Caporossi, has done a brilliant job here in creating something that looks quite simple but the tone of their art speaks volumes. This certainly could be a poster to put up on the wall of any fan of the game.
Tumblr media
Maybe consider giving Jacopo a follow over on Instagram or rating this art over on Reddit – it’s already at 2.6k upvotes at this time of writing. Great job, Jacopo!
So much information and trailers have come out over the last few months regarding The Last of Us Part 2 that you may have forgotten some key aspects of what to expect when it releases. For an extensive and up to date guide on what awaits you, check out this article that delves into the story, who should play it, what to expect, gameplay length, and much more. As for our own coverage of The Last of Us Part II, we currently don’t have a review posted on the site but it won’t be much longer until we do. We outlined our review plans for the game in a dedicated article right here earlier last week and explained that we should have a written review, video review, and review discussion posted not too long after launch. Stay tuned in the coming days to hear more of our opinionated thoughts on the game.
The Last of Us Part II will release exclusively for PS4 this Friday on June 19, 2020, and you can pre-order the game on Amazon. For a closer look at some brand new screenshots of the long-awaited title, you can check them all out over at this article, and stay tuned for our upcoming review of the game after its launch.

Holiday in Madeira: Top 10 things to do in Madeira
Tumblr media
Madeira – the just about untapped islands are a tropical destination offering adventurous nature tracks, blissed out sunbathing and a side of Portuguese culture that’s unique from that of the mainland. We hiked up mountains (to chase waterfalls, yes literally).
we indulged in local delicacies, eating at remarkable restaurants, and mostly we chilled call at the sun, forever surrounded by panoramic views, lush nature and endless stretches of the Atlantic.
This visit was a part of a gifted press trip with Visit Madeira, however, all opinions are my very own. Read on to ascertain what we got up to during our stay in Funchal, Madeira.

1. Ride on the car
The most efficient/novelty thanks to ascending the very steep Funchal slopes is to catch the Madeira car. The destination? We hitched a ride up to the Monte Palace Tropical Gardens and you'll conveniently buy a combo ticket to both attractions for 31,40€. Along your journey within the glass cars, you’ll be treated to sky-high views of Funchal, surrounded by the Atlantic blues. The journey itself only lasts quarter-hour but is certainly not one to miss. No got to book tickets beforehand, you'll simply purchase a ride at the station.

2. Visit Monte Palace Tropical Gardens
When we finally reached the highest of the gorgeous car ride, we had a full morning to explore the magical Monte Palace Tropical Gardens. Once a lavish 18th-century hotel, the location was bought by José Berardo in 1987 and transformed into a tropical public attraction, covering 70,000 square meters of exotic plants, lakes, fountains, and wildlife.
As you stroll through the gardens, you'll admire the gorgeous ceramic tile collection portraying the history of Portugal, including the foremost important social, cultural and non-secular events. If you get the prospect to go to, I’d recommend wearing some shoes with some serious grip for the steep cobbles that wind around the gardens – I spent a good amount of your time gripping Justin’s arm sort of vice.

3. Lunch at Restaurante Do Forte
This restaurant is found within the walls of the historical fortress of São Tiago. Constructed in 1614, the brilliant yellow-colored walls of the fortress are like the palaces in Sintra on mainland Portugal. At Restaurante Do Forte you'll be seated during a romantic setting, with a view of the ocean to enjoy whilst eating your way through a various gastronomic menu featuring international cuisine with traditional Madeiran ingredients.
Not only is that the restaurant during a stunning location, but each dish that came out was also an edible work of art! We started with the seafood trilogy of scallop, shrimp, and squid. For mains, Justin and that I both tucked into their Surf & Turf – Beef fillet with prawn and sea bream + roasted shallot cream, the meat was incredibly succulent and pair perfectly with the accompanying vegetables. For dessert, I had the Pistachio delight – caramel, meringue kisses, gooseberry gel + pistachio sponge which was (almost) too pretty to eat.

4. Swim at Doca do Cavacas
For our Judgment Day in Madeira, we visited Doca do Cavacas – a posh of natural pools with direct sea access. It costs a measly 2€ euro to urge in and a further 4.90€ for 2 sunbeds + an umbrella for the whole day, a solid bargain if you inquire from me.
We came here on a weekday which I might highly recommend doing, as obviously a spot as gorgeous as this is often completely rammed on the weekends, and spaces are limited. We spent a couple of hours chilling within the sun then headed up to the particular restaurant of Doca do Cavacas, where I enjoyed some fresh garlic prawns, of course. Will there be one holiday where I don’t eat them? I hope not!

5. Explore Zona Velha (the old town)
In the charming backstreets of Funchal’s old town, Zona Velha, you'll find over 200 painted doors as a part of the aptly named Painted Doors Project which transforms this area into an outside gallery. Head to Zona Velha for an active atmosphere, it’s where Funchal’s hottest nightlife venues and restaurants are located with most of the action happening on Rua de Santa Maria. Walking through the narrow cobblestones streets of the Old Town also will lead you to the gorgeous Socorro Church.

6. Enjoy the simplest views of Funchal
While there are many “miradouros” (viewpoints) dotted around the hilly slopes of Funchal – we got a tip-off from the locals to go here for the simplest panoramic views of the town and harbor below. One evening we packed our bags with a couple of bevies and caught a taxi to the present spot (don’t plan to walk because the climb is V unforgiving). We watched the sun drench the town during a golden-red glow before setting behind the clouds and watching the hills illuminate during a mesmerizing sparkle.
7. Immerse yourself in traditional Madeiran culture
On the primary night of our visit, with no real agenda, we stumbled across a leaflet from our hotel advertising a “Typical Maderia evening” with traditional Madeiran food, music, dancing, and free-flowing booze? Hold my phone.
We received the restaurant excited at the prospect of unlimited grilled meat + drinks and a vast chance of being dragged abreast of the stage to embarrass ourselves! We quickly realized that we were far and away from the youngest people within the place by a solid 30 years. However, we fully embraced the hilarity, making a toast with the elderly couple sat opposite us on the table and proceeded to drink a bottle of white within the space it took them to drink their first glass!
The grilled meat was incredible, made all the more enticing by being hung high above the table on massive iron skewers! Justin quickly ate himself into a beef-based coma by the time the cultural Folklore dancing began….and then found himself being grabbed by the dancers decked in bizarre-looking hats. He was in time at the rear of a line – fully knowing he couldn’t break off at the danger of starting ANOTHER line.
For 30 euro each including a transfer/to from the hotel – it had been banging deal for our first night in Madeira where we soaked up their local culture, dishes, and alcohol! Booking is often made here.
levada walk-Top-things-to-do-in-madeira-Bucket-list--Instagram-Story-Template--kelseyinlondon-Kelsey-Heinrichs--What-to-do-in-madeira--Where-to-go-in-madeira-top-places-in-madeira-
8. continue a Levada Walk
Much as I like a glam holiday moment, you can’t beat going for an honest ol’ hike within the forest and Maderia has some incredible trails to explore! We were lucky enough to possess a personal guide to accompany us on a famous Levada walk.
“Levada” maybe a Portuguese word derived from the word “levar” – which suggests holding. These mini-canals are irrigation systems developed to distribute water from the rainfall heavy and wet regions along far distances to banana plantations, vineyards, fruit orchards, and vegetable gardens. They wind around the mountains of Madeira, making them ideal walking paths for keen hikers.
We hit the Levada do Caldeirão Verde track which was about an hour's drive from Funchal. The walk was so beautiful but not without its scary moments. There are very narrow paths with huge drops to the side and little tunnels to squat your way through #legday! The highlight of the walk found us at the bottom of a 100ft waterfall that left us with a small neck ache staring up at it.
Our guide packed us a picnic, so we tucked into sandwiches, refreshments and a famous pastel de nata to refuel for the long sun-drenched forest walk back. I highly recommend booking a guide, not only is it cheaper than catching a taxi (as transfers to/from your hotel are included), but you’ll have the added comfort of safety, experience and lunch is included too!

9. Drink cocktails at Sé Boutique Hotel’s Rooftop Bar
An Instagrammable rooftop bar serving delicious cocktails will always call to me sort of a siren. Sé Boutique Hotel‘s terrace bar is hospitable to the general public and may be accessed via the hotel lobby. there's no cocktail menu here, just sit back and relax and let their barman, Rui, do all the work, he’s the expert in any case. He made us their signature drink ‘The Flamingo’, which went down smoothly and quickly. Come here for sunset and luxuriate in the 360° views over the town of Funchal. Stay to mingle with the locals and guests of the hotel, it’s the right thanks to starting a night in Funchal.

10. Dinner at DC Atelier Restaurant
Wow, what an experience. If you’re visiting Madeira to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary or just the very fact you’re a wonderful person – then treat yourself to a monumental fine dining experience at DC Atelier Restaurant located at the Nini Design Centre Restaurant. the planning center was born from the skills of Portuguese designer, Nini Andrade Silva. Built into the jagged rocks of the old fort, the center’s design features take inspiration from Nina’s favorite art subject: pebbles. Everything from the elevator, furniture and right down to the serving plates combat some sort of a pebble-like shape or texture.
The restaurant is found on the highest floor boasting views looking back at the town of Funchal, which in the dark is illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights. The menu features fresh seafood and re-interpretations of traditional Madeira dishes with Atlantic cuisine.
We started with the nice and cozy Tiger prawn salad with a wine reduction, and as I write this I'm hit with a momentary pang of sadness as I realize ready to | I'll"> I will be able to never be able to eat this dish anytime soon (until my next visit to Madeira, of course). it had been THAT good. For mains, we divided and conquered two different portions of meat – lacquered duck + the catch of the day with a mustard crust and potato terrine. Dessert was the Salty Caramel Cheesecake which a piece of art in itself – again the planning nodding to the pebble theme of the restaurant with caramel balls sprinkled throughout.

Four Views Baía
Located within the center of Funchal, the Four Views Baía hotel is during a prime position, with epic views of the bay of Funchal. We were welcomed by the stunning hotel staff who gave us an excellent rundown of the local spots within the area and showed us to our incredible suite on the 11th floor. The view from our balcony (which mind you, if you saw from my Instagram stories then you'd have seen was 3 times the dimensions of our room) was simply breath-taking!
On top of everything, our suite had it’s own bathtub bath with floor to ceiling windows so we could watch the sunsets from the tub! The decor is sleek and modern, and therefore the room featured a little kitchenette, LCD TV and free access to their spa. The hotel offers a variety of entertainment, head on right down to their Woogie Boogie Bar for various evening events and activities.
The standout of this hotel is undoubtedly their outdoor swimming bath where you'll chill and absorb the views of the Funchal harbor and surrounding hills. There’s also a heated indoor pool for those visiting Madeira within the slightly colder months.
